What we do with your laptop.
We pull the hard drive and destroy it based on the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) 800-88. We replace it with an SSD and load the Chrome OS Flex operating system. Your laptop basically becomes a Chromebook.
Paperwork
We ask you to provide minimal information including a name and email address. You will sign an “Equipment Authorization Donation” form that contains the terms and conditions of the donation.
You will receive an emailed “Certificate of Destruction” certifying that your hard drive has been destroyed, thus protecting your privacy and data.
For your tax records, you will receive a “Donation Receipt” thanking you for your donation and affirming that you received no goods or services in exchange for the donation.

Terms and Conditions:
- The donor agrees to donate the items listed above to CyberLynx, the recipient organization.
- The donor represents and warrants that they have legal ownership and the right to donate the items.
- The recipient organization agrees to wipe / erase any received data storage mediums associated with the donation, i.e. hard drives, solid state drives, media cards, and other storage.
- The recipient organization agrees to accept the donated items as-is, without any warranties or guarantees regarding the condition or functionality of the items.
- The donation is voluntary and non-refundable.
- The donor will not receive any goods or services in return for this donation.
- The donor acknowledges that they are responsible for the pickup and transportation of the donated items unless otherwise arranged.
- Both parties agree that the donation is intended to be a charitable contribution and may have tax implications. The donor is advised to consult a tax professional regarding the deductibility of this donation.
